During a past internship, I was tasked with two different scenarios of users interacting with a product and asked to redesign that product for the given scenarios. Additionally, as I designed, I was asked to refresh the current landing screen for the "Data Books" page to make it more visually pleasing and comprehensible for new and returning users. For confidentiality purposes, the product's brand identity, concept, and select elements have been reimagined for this portfolio piece, however, the scenarios remain as initially assigned.
What is Data Books?
Data Books is a section within Bubble's interface that serves as a collaborative tool for users to create, share, submit, and publish data reports or books for specific projects within their own companies.
Since Bubble's overall product was a brand new interface, I was tasked with designing two specific scenarios for Data Books.
SCENARIO 1
Submitting a data book for approval
SCENARIO 2
Approving and commenting on a submitted data book
Understanding the Users
In order to bring these two scenarios together and design a seamless process for new and returning users, I created two different personas with an IA map to help me create a potential situation while designing.
Scenario 1 is from the perspective of Kari while Scenario 2 is from the perspective of Chris.

Internship Takeaways
Story Telling is key when pushing an idea to production.
In order to make my ideas and concepts more realistic and engaging, I learned that it is essential to take what you learn from your users to craft an experience that you can use to tell your user's story. By learning from our users I crafted together two personas who would be put in the scenarios I was tasked. This helped me express my ideas and findings more effectively by helping my team understand the people we are creating the product for.
Consistently sharing UI/UX findings and development with cross functional team members improves the final result and collaboration.
Throughout this project, I had the privilege of being a part of meetings with different teams and departments. During these meetings, I was encouraged to share my work and progress. It was intimidating at first to reach out and ask for feedback from people who were involved with the project but not the design process, I gained valuable insight and tips which helped in making the final results successful.
