CRAFT
A digital platform for gift giving art to friends, family, or loved ones while simultaneously connecting buyers and artists around the world
My Role: Product Designer
Project: Self Initiated
Tools: Figma
Project Duration: 2 Months
BACKGROUND
Many traditional artists face challenges in connecting with buyers online and transforming their craft into a sustainable business. At the same time, gift givers are often on the lookout for unique, meaningful items to present to their loved ones, desiring a more personal and distinctive way to express their appreciation.

USER PERSONAS
PROTOTYPE AND USER TESTING
USER TESTING INSIGHTS
01 - Artist Profile Page
Users recommended that having an artist profile page would be helpful since people could learn more about an artist and what they have to offer.

02- Past Orders is irrelevant
Having "Past Orders" on the home page makes no sense, it would be better to add local events hosted by artists to give the user an insight to what else is happening in the art world aside from gifting.

03- Filtering option
Rather than making the user scroll through a plethora of artists, it would be more efficient to add an option to filter artists or provide specific categories the user can explore.

FINAL DESIGNS
Onboarding and Discover Feed
Here users can identify themselves in order to embark on their desired experience.
Next users will be directed to their explore page which essentially serves as a home feed where users can see upcoming artist events, their friends, and artists who are trending.
This gives artists a chance to promote their events and for buyers to make quick actions when they are looking to gift artwork.
Selecting a recipient and discovering an artist
This flow shows how users can access a contacts page where they can select someone to send a gift to. After selecting a recipient for their gift, the user will then be prompted to discover artists. They can search, filter, or view recommended categories such as trending or new artists. Additionally their feed will recommend them artists who their recipient has favorited.
This not only gives buyers a chance to learn about different artists but also have an organized process when it comes to deciding a gift for their recipient.
Artist Profile
This page is where artists have an opportunity to simply market themselves, their work, and events they may be hosting or have participated in. Having reviews on the profile can help gifter's develop trust with the purchasing process while also helping artists build their brand and identity through the interface. Additionally by showcasing events on the artist profile can help bring attention to their craft outside of the app.

Personalization to Checkout
After selecting an artwork to gift, the user will have a chance to personalize their gift by selecting a card, writing a message, and selecting how it will be wrapped prior to delivery. Providing double confirmation (once before deciding delivery instructions and once after) gives the reassurance that they have selected everything they needed. Once the order is placed, the user can track and keep up with each step of the delivery process.
FINAL THOUGHTS
If I had more time on this project, I would dive deeper into the user flows for the different account types aside from "Buyer". When I come back to this project in the future, my first goal would be to design the flow for the Artist's perspective based on research I have collected thus far and will continue to collect.
Additionally, I would also take into account how the app could potentially develop a system by collecting data. Another thing to consider would be how the business model would raise profit?
As I continue to come back to this project, I will constantly keep these business questions and goals in mind to enhance my final designs and process effectively.
